Introducing : Mikes’ Big Box of Chilli & Salt Stuff!

We’re trying a new menu item thanks to one of our regular customers, Mike the tiler. He always forgets what Diced Crispy Chicken in Chilli and Salt is called so he calls it, “Chicken Stuff”

If someone is near him, he’ll tell them of the wonders of the Fired Wok Chicken Stuff!

Nom Nom Nom!

The dish contains…

2 Chilli Salted (big) King Prawns
2 Meaty Chilli Salted Barbecue Spare Ribs
Lightly Battered Crispy Chilli and Salted Chicken Pieces
Chilli and Salted Chips
Carrots, onions and Chillis garnish

All served in one box for just a fiver.

Be warned! this dish is salty and will make you thirsty. Do not eat this dish if you are a wimpy girls blouse and can’t handle the heat. (also pregnant women and small children should be supervised)

Open Bank Holiday Monday and Good Friday

If it’s a bank holiday, we’re open!

If you’re having a wonderful long weekend this Easter then why not have a takeaway and leave the cooking to the ‘normal’ days?

Our opening hours are 5pm to 10.30pm with last orders for deliveries at 10.20pm . We offer a 10% discount on orders over 10 pounds to Students (collection only). If you are phoning your order through in advance and you are a student, please mention on the phone that you want the discount and be sure to bring your NUS card!

New bigger text menu and kids box meals?

I have doubled the size of the panels of the menu and put them on the wall so it should be a lot easier to read (all those that forget to bring your glasses, I’m talking to you!)

I’ve replaced the one in the window too, it seems the sun completely took away all the specials.

New additions?

We’re considering adding a few simple kids box meals to the menu, one thing that we could do straight away is a battered chicken bites with chips and dipping sauce. What do you think? what would you like to see on the menu?

Getting Ready for the big quiet

It’s that time of year again where it gets a bit quiet in the shop. I’ve got myself prepared with some good books and rejigged the PC to be able to watch TV.

Normally, getting a book ready for reading or waiting for a tv series to start will guarantee that the phone rings off the hook so this time around, I’m getting a hundred to put under the counter. I hope I don’t get to read even one chapter!

The advantage of the quiet time is much faster deliveries! So don’t worry about interrupting my reading time, get on the phone and order some tasty Chinese food today!

Sunday deliveries nearly normal

It’s still bloody cold but we are managing to do most deliveries, as long as they’re not on a steep hill or isolated road. Our drivers have been doing really well and know what roads are still too dangerous to go up so let us know how the conditions are on your own road when you order.

Limited deliveries for Saturday 9 Jan

We’re one driver down today due to the ice (he can’t get out his own driveway!) but, deliveries will still be happening in a limited fashion on Saturday 9th Jan. Please help us out by letting us know the conditions of your road and if necessary, the best route to access it.

In some cases, we may have to meet you at the bottom or top of your street where it connects with one of the main roads. We’ll discuss this with you at the time of your order once we get your address. Our drivers have been all over Lancaster the past week so they have a very good idea where they can and can’t get to.

It’s clear skies tonight which means it’s going to stay cold and the wind will make it even chillier! Be careful on the side roads, there’s very few of them clear enough to drive safely and temperatures are due to drop even further tonight. Click to visit the forecast on BBC for Saturday

Main road deliveries only Friday 8 Jan

We will be only delivering to the main roads in Lancaster today, all side roads are still a nightmare! We may be able to deliver to side roads if you can meet the driver where your road joins the main road. This applies to Bowerham road, ashton road, scottforth road, main road Calgate, morecambe road, torrisholme and slyne road.

Deliveries off again because of ice (Thur 7 Jan 2010)

Ready for slippy slippy crunch crash?

Another day where deliveries have been called off! So sorry but there’ll only be collection and takeaway orders tonight!

It doesn’t look good for the rest of the week either, temperatures down as low as -7 means that the ice that is there now, aint goin nowhere!

Keep checking back to see if we are making deliveries or not (or see if we buy a snowmobile!)
