I have doubled the size of the panels of the menu and put them on the wall so it should be a lot easier to read (all those that forget to bring your glasses, I’m talking to you!)
I’ve replaced the one in the window too, it seems the sun completely took away all the specials.
We’re considering adding a few simple kids box meals to the menu, one thing that we could do straight away is a battered chicken bites with chips and dipping sauce. What do you think? what would you like to see on the menu?
It’s that time of year again where it gets a bit quiet in the shop. I’ve got myself prepared with some good books and rejigged the PC to be able to watch TV.
Normally, getting a book ready for reading or waiting for a tv series to start will guarantee that the phone rings off the hook so this time around, I’m getting a hundred to put under the counter. I hope I don’t get to read even one chapter!
The advantage of the quiet time is much faster deliveries! So don’t worry about interrupting my reading time, get on the phone and order some tasty Chinese food today!
It’s still bloody cold but we are managing to do most deliveries, as long as they’re not on a steep hill or isolated road. Our drivers have been doing really well and know what roads are still too dangerous to go up so let us know how the conditions are on your own road when you order.

We’re one driver down today due to the ice (he can’t get out his own driveway!) but, deliveries will still be happening in a limited fashion on Saturday 9th Jan. Please help us out by letting us know the conditions of your road and if necessary, the best route to access it.
In some cases, we may have to meet you at the bottom or top of your street where it connects with one of the main roads. We’ll discuss this with you at the time of your order once we get your address. Our drivers have been all over Lancaster the past week so they have a very good idea where they can and can’t get to.

We will be only delivering to the main roads in Lancaster today, all side roads are still a nightmare! We may be able to deliver to side roads if you can meet the driver where your road joins the main road. This applies to Bowerham road, ashton road, scottforth road, main road Calgate, morecambe road, torrisholme and slyne road.

Another day where deliveries have been called off! So sorry but there’ll only be collection and takeaway orders tonight!
It doesn’t look good for the rest of the week either, temperatures down as low as -7 means that the ice that is there now, aint goin nowhere!
Keep checking back to see if we are making deliveries or not (or see if we buy a snowmobile!)
We are trying to do some deliveries tonight, you can help us by taking a look out of your window before ordering. If you wouldn’t want to drive your car on the street you live in, you shouldn’t order for a delivery!
If you live on a main road or very near to one then our driver might be able to deliver to you. Please let us know the conditions in your area, especially if you live at the bottom of a steep ice covered hill
Deliveries are expected to start from 6pm, hopefully all those folks driving home after work will warm the main streets enough to drive on.. here’s hoping!

Wednesday looks like it might have bright skies with the South of England getting the heavy snow falls so hopefully this is just a single day affair. Check back tomorrow to see if we’re stopping deliveries again.

I recommend trying the King Prawn Satay dish, it’s my favourite. With a nice peppery taste that clears your sinus, perfect with a portion of steamed rice to keep your tackle tickled this winter.
We have a new source for our chicken breast pieces, the old stuff was great but this stuff is much better so your sweet and sour chicken balls and crispy chicken in spicy sauce will now be tastier than ever!

We had a big order to deliver to Ashton Hall last night for the crew who are filming for the TV programme “Most Haunted” as part of their Halloween special. Wow they can eat a lot! or was it because they needed to feed “the starved ghost” ?

If you’re having a night in with friends and need to feed a lot of people (or even filming ghosts!), give us a call a couple of hours before you need it and we’ll cook it up especially and deliver it on time.
At last! all the menu items with their descriptions, tags, categories and pictures are now added to the new website. More pictures will be on the way as and when we take them. Have you ever had to type out a few hundred menu descriptions? what a pain it was!
Next comes the menu display page, right now you can download the menu in PDF format for displaying on your own PC but not everyone has a PDF reader installed and sometimes it’s much easier to browse through an online page. I am working on a custom bit of code to show all the menu categories on one page and later on this month I should have some more additions that allow you to add items to your list so you can keep track of how much you’re spending and when it comes time to phone your order in, you’ll have a convenient list of numbers and titles to read out to me.
In the future you’ll be able to order online with your Paypal account or pay by debit/credit card, that’s not quite ready yet but if you add your name, email address and telephone number to the subscription form on the sidebar, you’ll get notified as soon as it’s ready.
